Certificate III Scholarships

Today’s piece is about an opportunity for Rogan nannies – while promoting lifelong learning.

Rogan Family Care will be opening an application process for Rogan nannies with no previous qualifications to apply to study for a Certificate III in Children’s Services. This will be a type of scholarship. While there will be some conditions, we hope that these will not be too difficult to meet.

We are still in the developmental stage and are interested in hearing thoughts from both families and nannies.

One day in the not too distant future, we believe that qualifications will be compulsory. Rogan Family Care has taken great pride in the past in providing complimentary professional developmental for nannies at least twice per year and this is an extension of this learning. Also, we will be offering a number of new services very soon, including staffing to long day care centres. Nannies will require Certificate III qualifications to be eligible for these temporary positions.

The trickiest part of the Certificate III scholarship is the completion of a 2 week placement. Nannies would have to take annual leave to participate and this would need to coincide with family annual leave also.

We need to talk to the provider to see if we could gain an extension of time to the 12 month course so that that practical component could be completed with no disruption to the nanny’s family. If an extension cannot be achieved we will need to plan very carefully in advance.

The provider will be iTFE, a business in the IntoWork Australia group, and it will be wonderful to have their support in this project. Classes will be conducted in Melbourne on Saturdays.

Any nannies who are interested please contact the office on 03 9670 7686.
