Lego news

In The Australian dated 14 July there is a wonderful article about Danish toymaker Lego – sorry, newspaper words, no qualification needed on this website!

‘Executives are assembling a team of scientists to find a bio-based alternative to the petroleum-based plastic that has been used to make its bricks for decades because the popular building blocks are a major contributor to the company’s carbon footprint.’

While the article is essentially focussed on a business decision, the benefits for our children are numerous.

For all the bad news we see and hear every day what a lift to hear of such a move.

They expect the process to go out to 2030 which is lengthy to say the least.

Our children enjoyed Lego so much over two or three decades ago and I have no doubt, however much the world might change, that children for many decades to come will also enjoy it.

Please note no vested interest!
